Christians are charged with revealing the love of Christ to a damaged and suffering world, and a large percentage of that suffering is experienced by children. Viva works to change the lives of vulnerable children by strengthening every part of the system that cares for them, and helping to engage in proactively combating the issues they face.

Many Christian individuals and projects are caring for children at risk, and their passionate and committed work is vital. Yet the reach of a single initiative is limited, and the pressure of simply meeting the daily needs often renders tackling the root of the problems impossible. Without a more strategic, specific, and united response we will never be able to effectively attack and reduce the issues faced by children at risk.

Viva’s unique model focuses on bringing disparate and disconnected projects together, providing them with a bigger circle of impact than is achievable alone, and enabling them to effect widespread, comprehensive, and sustainable change.

Our vision is that as these projects come together they will be trained, resourced, and equipped to collectively offer greater numbers of children a better standard of care.
This in turn will lead to:

• Changed children’s lives: happier and healthier children with a hope and a future, able to become all that God intends.
• Thriving workers: staff feeling more confident, more capable, and much more motivated in their work with vulnerable children.
• Sustainable projects: large and small organisations better equipped and resourced in their work, not just now but in the long term.
• Engaged churches: energised congregations, supporting the vulnerable children in their communities and actively responding to their needs.
• Influenced decision-makers: people in authority making choices that help and do not harm children at risk.

It is only by investing in the children of today that we can hope to break the pattern of poverty for the next generation. As we love, support, educate, and equip young people and those who work with them, we are not only transforming lives now, we are enabling them to go on and transform other lives in the future.
