What Viva Does

Viva works in partnership with local networks to give vulnerable children around the world the chance of a happier, healthier, and brighter future, free from deprivation, exploitation, abuse, and neglect. However, the problems of children at risk are substantial and the scale of the need can be almost overwhelming. So what exactly is Viva Africa doing to make a difference?

  • We recognise the incredible power of prayer, knowing it to be vital as we work to bring about significant and transformational change. Viva Pray encourages people all over the world to intercede together for children at risk.
  • Viva Map is a programme that helps us discover exactly who is working with vulnerable children, where they are, and what they are doing. This allows us to respond and support people relevantly.
  • Viva Connect is about uniting those projects and workers, enabling partnerships that will mutually benefit and serve. Collaboration is vital in developing strategies for large-scale change, ensuring that children’s needs are genuinely met and whole communities are lastingly and tangibly impacted.
  • The most effective way to sustainably improve children’s lives is to invest in the people who care for them: the projects and the workers. By supporting, training, and resourcing them Viva Equip not only affects lives now but also provides for the future.
  • God's people have a very important role in the response to children at risk. Viva Engage is mobilising churches, communities, and individuals to play their part in changing the lives of vulnerable children.

The Viva Community is an innovative and interactive space, designed to connect Christian workers who are dealing with children at risk issues.

The most tangible part of the Community will be the Community Groups: these are online networking forums designed to allow individuals and teams to come together and develop working groups, access specific resources, and discuss common concerns and challenges. These Community Groups are created by the community for the community, and Viva wants users to be proactive about participating in and contributing to them. Individuals will initiate and run the various groups and debates; Viva will not take on that role. As you utilise this forum to develop relationships and strategic alliances Viva can offer some practical support and facilitation, however, the direction, content, and application of the discussions are all in your hands.

Getting involved with a Community Group is about being encouraged, inspired, and informed, and in turn encouraging and sharing with others across the globe. So whether you have questions, answers, thoughts, recommendations, or simply a need to be re-affirmed and encouraged in your work, please do sign up to become an active part of the Viva Community.
